For both men and women, the Indian Army is accepting applications for positions like Short Service Commission, NCC Special Entry, JAG, and Rally roles such as Soldier, Soldier Tech Havilda, Nursing Assistant, and more. For the granting of its Short Service Commission for the judge advocate general branch, the Indian Army has accepted online applications from unmarried male and female legal graduates. The recruitment notice has been posted on the Indian Army’s official website.
Candidates who are interested and eligible should apply online by June 4th. In total, eight vacancies have been published, six of which are for males and two of which are for women. Officers Training Academy (OTA) in Chennai would train the selected candidates for 49 weeks.
The University of Madras will award the participants a ‘postgraduate Diploma in Defence and Strategic Studies’ upon completion of the Pre-Commission Course. They will then be appointed to the Short Service Commission for an initial term of ten years, which can be extended for an additional four years.

Indian Army Officer Eligibility Criteria
Eligibility criteria are different for every post to Join the Indian Army. Check the following for each post eligibility criteria.
- National Defence Academy Exam I & II –
The NDA Exam is held twice a year. Male candidates who are unmarried and between the ages of 15 and 18 years old.10+2 from any stream are required for Army entry.10+2 with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory topics for Air Force and Naval Wings. The National Defense Agency (NDA) is liable for Officers Entry and is governed by a Permanent Commission.
- Combined Defence Services Exam I & II –
The CDS exam is held twice a year. The age range is 18 to 24 years old. Educational Qualification: A bachelor’s degree in any field is required. Male and female candidates who are not married are eligible to apply. The Officer Training Academy is only open to female candidates. The CDS is used to identify candidates for the IMA, AFA, INA, and OTA. The CDS is an official recruitment entrance exam that leads to a permanent commission.
- Technical Entry Scheme-
16 to 19 years old is the age limit. Education: 10+2 (12th grade) with 70% in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.A number of openings: 90.
- Technical Graduate Course (TGC)-
The age limit is 20 to 27 years old. Education: A bachelor’s degree in engineering (BE/B.Tech) in any field is required. The number of openings: 40. Permanent Commissioned Officers are being sought.
- SSC Technical Officer-
The Short Service Commission (SSC) as a Technical Officer.Age Restrictions: 21 to 27 years old. Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering or technology with a 60 percent average. Both male and female applicants will be considered for the SSC Technical Officer position.
- NCC Entry-
NCC Cadets with a ‘C’ Certificate or a Grade of ‘A’ or ‘B’. The age limit is 19 to 25 years old. Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 50% overall.
- JAG Entry-
With the Judge Advocate General Duty entrance, both male and female candidates can join the Indian Army. The age range for this event is 21 to 27 years old. Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 55 percent.

Selection Procedure for Indian Army Recruitment
Written tests, physical tests, medical examinations, and personal interviews were all part of the general selection procedure for Indian Army Recruitment 2021. The written tests will be multilingual (Hindi and English) and objective in nature.

Physical Fitness Test for Indian Army Recruitment 2021
Aspirants for Rally posts must first register at joinindianarmy.nic.in and then go through a series of Physical Fitness Tests. Applicants for all Indian Army Rally positions would be required to take a 100-point PFT (Physical Fitness Test) at a specific time and date to examine their physical ability and courage. As part of the Physical Fitness Tests, the following tests will be completed:
- Endurance run of 1.6 kilometers.
- Strengthening Pull-Ups on Beam (Under Grip).
- Balance – Should pass, but no points are given.
- 9-foot Ditch for Courage — Should qualify, but no points will be given.
